BENEFITS of Computer-Based Testing
- CBT allows for faster score reporting, usually within two weeks of testing. Immediate viewing of scores on screen is possible with CBT.
- CBT allows a diverse range of question types, which is a better measure of a test taker's competency.
- CBT improves the link between teaching and assessment. It provides a profile of a student's strengths and weaknesses in ways that are helpful to the students and their instructors.
- CBT provides for a more individualized testing atmosphere.
- CBT allows for flexible scheduling. No longer must candidates register weeks in advance.
Funding
Funding for the computer-based testing center was made possible with grants from Title III, Educational Testing Service, and the FSU School of Education.
Computer Based Testing
IMPORTANT
Fee waivers, special accommodations, and prepaid vouchers must be applied for prior to test registration. It generally takes 2 to 3 weeks to receive the voucher. Registration can then be arranged. If the deadline for your Graduate School application is coming up, make sure you make an appointment in time.
