Course: CPM 220 Energy Management Principles
When: Fall Semester 8 Weeks
Description: This course covers the fundamental concepts of sustainability in the built environment. Concepts include sustainability and resilience; environmental issues related to human activities including environmental ethics and justice, environmental economics, building assessment and energy systems, etc.
Course: CPM 410 Global Sustably & Energy Management
When: Fall Semester 16 Weeks
Description: This course aims to introduce students to the principles of design for sustainability, with emphasis on creative thinking and strategies for managing sustainable construction. Combination of lectures, readings, discussions, case analysis, and projects will be used to explore sustainable design of infrastructures and buildings with minimal impact on the environment. Topics include the integration of materials, human and financial aspects in the design, and water and energy management. Additional topics include including Life Cycle Costing, building assessment frameworks.
