Biography
Dr, Jackson is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC.   She has 20 + years of extensive experience in the following practice areas: Medical-Surgical, Nephrology, Telemetry, Geriatrics, Public Health, and Family practice.   Dr. Jackson teaches in the Pre-Nursing, Generic BSN, and the RN to BSN online program.  She designs and implements innovative and engaging learning experiences through didactic, clinical, and online instruction.  

Dr. Jackson received her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing from the University of AR at Pine Bluff, her Masters of Science degree in Nursing from South University, and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Samford University.   She's a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner and has received a certificate in Primary Care from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Jackson is a veteran of the United States Army and serves as a Veteran Faculty Mentor at Fayetteville State University.   She's a member of the advisory board for Veterans in the Community, which helps veteran students as they matriculate through the nursing program.  Dr. Jackson assists students by providing mentoring, time management, study skills and test-taking strategies, and involvement in professional and community activities. Military honors she has received include:  National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Southwest Asia Service Medal w/2 Bronze Stars.  Federal Service honors received include the Meritorious Award for Civilian Service and Civilian of the Quarter award.   Professional honors include graduating summa cum laude from the DNP program at Samford University, a presenter at the Hackley seminar series at Fayetteville State University, and speaker at the 2020 Nursing and Healthcare Conference in Houston, TX.   Dr. Jackson's research interests are geriatric and veteran populations, and advanced nursing practice.
