Dr. Cynthia McArthur-Kearney

Adjunct Assistant Professor

Dr. Cynthia McArthur-Kearney is a certified Nurse Executive through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and a certified Advanced Practice Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Dr. McArthur-Kearney has extensive nursing experience as a registered nurse in the area of post-operative surgical care, medical-surgical nursing, management and nursing education. Her research interest includes the assessment of diabetes care practices and health disparities among diverse populations living in rural areas. She served as a research site coordinator for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing for the "Transition to Practice New Graduate Nurse" research study.

Dr. McArthur-Kearney has published work on employee safe lifting practices and has served as a professional speaker on numerous occasions for the North Carolina Nurses Association Convention. She is an appointed Board Member for the Cumberland County Board of Health. She serves on the Campbell University Catherine W. Wood School of Nursing Advisory Board and is designated as a certified Lay Servant for the United Methodist Church.

Dr. McArthur-Kearney's research interest include: diabetes self-care practices,  congestive heart failure, healthcare disparities, nursing leadership, patient care outcomes, patient safety, nurse delegation, and communication.
