Gregory Rich received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Miami (FL). He has taught at East Carolina University, Tuskegee University, Grambling State University, and Fayetteville State University, where he is currently Professor of Philosophy.

Teaching Courses

At Fayetteville State University he has taught inter-disciplinary humanities, introductory philosophy, and philosophy of religion courses. The primary courses he teaches are critical thinking and introductory logic courses. 

Research Interests: 

His current research focus includes the debate between Erasmus and Luther on Free Will.


Guided by his inter-disciplinary and cross-cultural interests, he has published encyclopedia articles on Fanon, on Dante, and on relativism. He has also published papers on apartheid and Christianity, on Maoist educational reforms during the Great Cultural Revolution, and on omnipotence and God's existence.
