ABOUT
This NASA Precollege Sumer Institute at Fayetteville State University (FSU) is funded by NASA Office of Science, Technology, Engieneering, and Mathematics Engagement (OSTEM) Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP). With the theme of “Drones, remote sensing, and GIS to map and analyze CO2 and land change for climate change and public health decision making,” the overarching goal of this NARA MUREP PSI at FSU is to increase interest in STEM of high school students, especially underrepresented/underserved students, and equip them with the tools necessary for their success in college STEM degree programs leading to STEM careers through their engagement and interaction with NASA’s Earth Science.
LOGISTICS
Location: Fayetteville State University, 1200 Murchison Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28301
Camp period: July 18th - 29th, 2022
Special feature:
- Residential: NASA PSI is a two-week residential geospatial STEM summer camp. Students will be staying in a residential hall on campus from Mondays to Fridays during the two weeks of the camp. Students will check in on Sundays and check out on Fridays.
- Fee: Free for all selected participants. All housing and meal expenses are covered by the project. Also, students will receive stipends.
APPLICATION
Eligibility: rising 10th - 12th graders in Cumberland County and its surrounding counties in North Carolina
