Parent & Family Institute

Parenting in the 21st Century can be challenging. Our Parent and Family Institute provides parents with strategies, skills, and resources necessary to help your child excel in school. We seek to increase parent engagement by supporting parents who have children enrolled in a program sponsored by the Office of College Access & Success Programs.

TRIO Parent Institute

I happy to say that I have had the opportunity to witness the benefits of the TRIO Programs offered by Fayetteville State University. As a parent, I must say that I was extremely impressed with the program. This unique program assisted and prepared my two sons for high school, college and beyond. Both of my sons: Porceyon and Malcom Burnette were in the GEAR UP Program and my son Malcolm was a member of Upward Bound until graduation from EE Smith High School. I believe that participation in this remarkable program is what helped influence my son's decision to further his education at Fayetteville State University. With that being said, if you are a parent who want the best for your child/children, I would strongly recommend this program 100%.

The purpose of the Parent and Family Institute is to provide parents with the strategies, skills, support and resources necessary to help their child excel in primary, secondary, and post-secondary education, and to increase parent involvement in the education of Cumberland, Hoke, and Robeson County students.
