Admission to LEAP

There are many good reasons to accept FSU's invitation to participate in the FSU-LEAP Scholars Program.

  • Accelerate your career - get a head start toward graduation. Earn 6-7 hours of academic credit by taking your first classes in math and English before the fall 2021 semester begins, the same classes other freshmen will take in the fall.
  • Learn the ropes. You will meet other students and faculty and learn your way around campus before other freshmen even arrive
  • Take advantage of free education. Tuition, fees, room, meals, and books for the FSU LEAP program are paid by FSU. That's 6-7 credits free!
  • Get accustomed to college life. Adjust to the increased academic expectations and personal freedoms of FSU before you begin your first year.

Students who participate in programs like LEAP earn higher grades and graduate in greater numbers than those who do not.

LEAP Participants

FSU-LEAP is by invitation only (from the Office of Admissions) for first-time freshmen, of all majors, admitted fall 2021, who are interested in a transitional experience between high school and college.

The program offers classes in English and math so if you have college credit for those already, you may not attend FSU-LEAP. FSU-LEAP is open to in-state students ONLY.

Secure Your Space

Space in FSU LEAP is limited. After students are invited by FSU's Office of Admissions, spaces are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis until the program is full.

To confirm your attendance, please do the following:

  1. Complete and return the LEAP contract electronically to the Office of Admissions. You will receive the participation contract via email. Students will then receive a Welcome email from the LEAP Leadership Team if accepted. Further instructions and actions needed to be taken will be included on the email itself. (Students will need to return the contract BEFORE they receive this Welcome email.)
  2. Attend New Student Orientation (Thursday, June 17th or Thursday, June 24th) and participate in the information session about LEAP there.

    New Student Orientation Registration

LEAP students need to attend New Student Orientation in June so their registration is complete BEFORE the summer program begins.  If you have any questions about Orientation, contact University College at (910) 672-1251. If you have not yet registered for Orientation, please do one of the following:
    1. Sign-in to BroncoVille, the online enrollment portal, where you can accept or decline the offer of admission and register for Orientation. You will need your Banner ID, which you can find on your letter of acceptance.
    2. You will receive periodic e-mails with the subject heading "New Student Orientation Invitation." These messages will include links to the registration sites for each date. To register for Orientation, you can click on the link in your e-mail invitation.

Hint: Register for Orientation as early as possible and complete the Questionnaire (in your email), to ensure the best fitting pre-registered schedule for you.
