Communities/Peer Mentors

Meet the 2019 Peer Mentors!

LEAP Peer Mentors assist students with their tramsition to college.  Each community is assigned a peer mentor who act as Resident Assistants in the dormitories, troubleshoot difficulties students may be experiencing during their transition, and assist staff with weekend and evening programming.  Peer mentors were one of the most important factors in our success.  LEAP Peer Mentors are the bridge between the students and staff; they are the eyes and ears of the program.  Mentors are involved with the students' lives in a way that faculty and staff could not be, which allow them to anticipate and head off any difficulties students may experience at any level:  interpersonal, academic, or financial.
