What Is the CDHS?

Fayetteville State University is the only HBCU in North Carolina to have developed a Center for Defense and Homeland Security. The CDHS was founded in 2010 and became fully operational in 2013. We are located within 10 miles of Ft. Liberty, the largest U.S. Army installation in the world and home of the elite Military Special Operations Forces. We partner with local, state, and federal agencies to leverage our capabilities to develop innovative solutions to prepare the next generation of leaders within the STEM, cybersecurity, national security, and emergency management disciplines.

Our popular Cybersecurity Academy offers Accelerated and Hands-On Non-College-Degree Information Technology and Cybersecurity Certification training. Our State-Of-The-Art Classrooms and Labs provides training in the following areas:
