Dr. Mary Ombonga is an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at Fayetteville State University. She received both her Ph.D and masters in K-12 Educational Administration from Michigan State University with a specialization in gender and international research. Prior to joining FSU Dr. Ombonga served as instructor and field experiences supervisor for extension students in six counties under the UNC Wilmington's professional development system. She also served as coordinator for the K-12 International outreach program. She has taught face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels on educational leadership, curriculum, instruction and supervision, applied research and comparative education.
Her research seeks to explore experiences of marginalized populations with a view to identifying empowering strategies and informing institutional policies that affect these groups in educational settings. Her scholarship focuses on examining issues of gender, social justice, school administration, and comparative education.
