Dr. Priscilla Manarino-Leggett, Professor and Chair, Department of Elementary Education; BA Elementary Education (University of South Florida, 1968); MA Reading Education (University of South Florida, 1970); Ph.D. Elementary Education/Reading Language Arts (University of South Florida, 1977). Professor Manarino-Leggett came to Fayetteville State University in 1978. She serves as coordinator of the Reading Education Program in the Department of Elementary Education. She also is coordinator of the on-campus Reading Clinic in the College of Education.
The clinic provides reading tutorial services to children in the area. She has developed and teaches many on-line graduate reading courses. Dr. Leggett continues to provide numerous in-service workshops for schools in the area. She is active in her professional organizations and presents at several regional, state, and national conferences. Her research interests lie in reading assessment, reading remediation, teacher education, educational technology, and parental influences in reading.
