About Bronco Alert

The Bronco ALERT system is designed to enhance and improve communication to the campus community to inform in the event of an emergency or campus closure. The goal is to use several different methods to deliver the message to the community as a whole for the word to spread as well as to individually reach every student and employee. 

  • May be used with text capable cell phones, smart phones, or pagers.
  • Messages may also be sent to campus e-mail account.
  • Used for ongoing safety threat, emergency, or severe weather events.
  • The service is free (your service provider may bill for text or data usage) for students, staff, and faculty, you must register to receive messages at or

The FSU Office of Emergency Management is a unit with the University's Department of Police and Public Safety, responsible for development and implementation of emergency preparedness initiatives, coordination of resources during disasters and other incidents, and the overall health and safety of the University community.

Mission: Promote the University's disaster awareness, prevention, mitigation, planning, response, and recovery programs. We help protect the lives and property of students, faculty, staff, and visitors of FSU, and facilitate the restoration of vital functions of the University to full working capacity immediately following an event. Promote compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and practices, through leadership, and education, in the areas of environmental and occupational health, safety, and emergency management.

Emergency Management
