J-Term
What is J(anuary) Term?
The J-Term, (January Term) is a 3-week mini term in January. This mini term was added to our academic calendar due to the extended break between our fall 2020 and spring 2021 terms. The J- Term is part of the spring 2021 term and runs from January 4-22, 2021. The traditional semester begins January 25, 2021.
What's the benefit to enrolling in J-Term?
Students only take one course so that they can fully concentrate on the instruction and assignments. By enrolling in J-Term, students can fit more credit hours into the spring term.
How long are the J-term courses and how many hours can I take?
The term is three weeks in length. Students can take a maximum of 4 credit hours, in addition to whatever is planned for your traditional spring term. All courses within the J-term are offered as online.
Does financial aid cover J-Term?
There is no unique financial aid for J-Term. It is part of your spring award.
Is housing available during J-Term?
Housing is not available during J-Term.
What classes are available during J-Term?
The most current list of J-Term courses is available in banner. To find J-Term courses:
- Log in to Banner
- Select Student tab
- Select Registration
- Select Look up classes
- Select Spring 2021
- Select Advanced search
- Select all subjects – click on the first subject, let go, scroll to the bottom of the list, shift click on the last subject and now all subjects are highlighted
- In Part of Term: Choose J-term (January Term) from the options.
