Dexter & Nealie Bacote-McLean Scholarship

Dexter and Nealie Bacote McLeanNealie Bacote McLean, '49 and widow of Dexter A. McLean, received a degree in education from FSU and is a retired school teacher.  “This act of generosity from the McLean family demonstrates their love and loyalty to Fayetteville State University,” said Stephen L. McDaniel, former Vice Chancellor of Institutional Advancement. “Mrs. McLean has fond memories of her days as a student at this institution and she sees the establishment of this endowed scholarship as way of giving back to the place that has given her so much.”

The Dexter and Nealie Bacote McLean Endowed Scholarship assists students who are members of the university’s marching band or play on an athletic team.
