From December 2003 to July 2005, FSU participated with 14 campuses in the UNC system in a project to migrate the previous administrative software to Sungard's Banner (ERP) system. The new system strengthened administrative services in five areas: Finance/Alumni and Development/Student Services/Human Resources and Financial Aid.
The project is the largest undertaken to date by the UNC Shared Services Alliance.
Sungard Banner is a fully integrated, Oracle-based, Internet-native technology solution for the higher education community. Banner is the market-leading suite of software applications for student information, advancement, human resources, financial aid, faculty and advisors, finance, and more.Self-Service Banner (SSB)
Self-Service Banner is used for alumni, students, employees and faculty to access personal information, advisement, registration, grades, financial aid etc.
Internet Native Banner (INB)
Internet Native Banner (INB) allows users to access Banner "proper" (the administrative system) through a web browser. INB provides direct access to the Banner Student Information System, thereby allowing access to all students/persons in the database. Please be aware that unless otherwise specified, most faculty advisors will not be given access to these forms (screens) and will be expected to use the Self-Service Banner (WEB) for purposes of advisement and registration. Only Deans, Chairpersons and other designated University officials will be given query access to many of the forms in Native Banner and, perhaps, user access to only some of these forms.
