BEEPS Unit Descriptions

Academic Labs
The Academic Labs team is charged with the responsibility of maintaining the student computer labs throughout the University Campus, along with assisting students with general questions on how to use the provided equipment and software.

Help Desk
The Help Desk is a frontline support team that interacts daily with faculty, staff, and students concerning IT issues.  The team follows basic troubleshooting techniques to diagnose problems over the phone and in a face to face environment; as well as submitting and escalating trouble tickets for all issues handled.

Media Services
The Media Services team is responsible for researching emerging classroom audiovisual technology, installation and maintenance of smart classroom hardware and software.

Web Services
Web Services provides consultation and assistance to faculty, staff and students in content digitization, web site development and usage of the campus web and the FSU Blackboard system.

The mission of the IT Training team is to provide training in the form of workshops, one on one consultations, and alternative forms of training when applicable.

Client Services
The Client Services team is to assist faculty, staff and students with their hardware and software related issues.  These issues are handled via remote assistance and field work, by physically visiting the client’s location.

Inventory Management
The Inventory Management team is responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory control of University technology assets. 

The Networking Infrastructure team is responsible for ensuring the reliable connectivity to the University network.  This includes network installation and construction, network repair, maintenance, and upgrading, networking date/voice/video communications, and PC hardware recommendations.

The Systems team is responsible for the management of the University email system, user accounts, and server maintenance.

Telephone Services
The Telephone Services team handles the University switchboard, with the addition of all telephone assignments and issues.  The scheduling of rooms across campus is also a responsibility of this unit.
