ULAC Statement on Racial Injustice and Police Abuse of Authority

Statement by The University of North Carolina System's University Libraries Advisory Council on racial injustice and police abuse of authority

The University of North Carolina System's University Libraries Advisory Council strongly condemns the systemic racism that impacts Black people and our communities. Our friend and colleague, Elaine L. Westbrooks, Vice Provost for University Libraries at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill wrote a powerful statement regarding recent events and the role of the library. We endorse her statement and encourage others to read it: "The University Libraries' Role in Reckoning with Systemic Racism and Oppression."
