Miriam Murrietta is a recent December 2015 graduate of our RN-BSN program, and the 1st recipient of the Mary B. Dickey Leadership Award. Miriam began her career in nursing at Cape Fear Valley Health System after graduating with her ADN in 1998 from Fayetteville Technical Community College. She has held many different clinical, educational, supervisory, and managerial roles in several areas including: the Orthopedic & Neurosurgical Unit, Outpatient GI Lab, Case Management, Quality Education & Compliance, Interim Nursing Director, and Clinical Educator.
Most recently, after her graduation from FSU's RN-BSN program, Miriam was promoted to Corporate Director for the Coordination of Care Department. The position oversees the strategic management and leadership of the Case Management Departments at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Hoke Hospital, and Bladen County Hospital. In this position she will also have some oversight of the Harnett Health Case Management department.
Miriam is a Certified Case Manager through the Commission for Case Management Certification, and has held this distinction since 2007. Her future goals include continuing to advance her education in nursing, with an interest in pursuing an MSN/MBA.
