Six Reasons to Choose FSU

FSU HomeSix ReasonsReason One

Lifelong learning at FSU means you will be fully prepared for the challenges and exciting opportunities in the world beyond college.

FSU offers high quality and nationally recognized academic programs

The university offers 43 undergraduate, 23 master's degree programs, and one doctoral degree program in the arts and sciences, business and economics, and education, including new undergraduate degree programs in Forensics, Fire Science, Communications, Management Information Systems, Art Education, and Birth through Kindergarten. A variety of new high-demand programs are on the drawing board.

More than 90% of FSU's full-time faculty hold the terminal degree in their respective disciplines. This percentage means that you will receive high-quality instruction from faculty who are experts in their discipline.

FSU was one of only twenty higher education institutions selected nationwide as having exemplary educational practices based on results from the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). Freshmen ranked FSU faculty higher-than-the-national average on all measures of engagement in the learning process.

FSU's Freshman Year Initiative (FYI) program, which facilitates high school-to-college transition, has received national recognition.

As evidence of our solid growth, FSU's enrollment now exceeds 6,000 and continues to grow rapidly. More and more students are discovering that our size, location, and hands-on approach to learning are ideally suited to their academic success.
