About the Department

I welcome you to the website of the Department of Sociology at Fayetteville State University. As you browse through the pages of our site, you will find relevant information about the programs that are offered in our department. We are a department committed to academic excellence and student success. Our students receive individualized attention from accomplished faculty members who represent a broad spectrum of teaching and research interests. Our undergraduate online degree completion program offers students who have completed the first two years of college classes the opportunity to earn the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in sociology. The Master of Arts (M.A.) degree program in sociology offers advanced training in the application of theory, research methodology, and data analyses. Our M.A. students are prepared for employment in the community college system, in industry, and in  private and public agencies. The program also provides a solid foundation for students to pursue doctoral degrees. I invite you to review information about our programs on our website. If you need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me or any of our dedicated faculty members.
