Hideki Morooka is Associate Professor of Sociology. He received a Ph.D. in Sociology from State University of New York at Albany (SUNY Albany), where he also received a C.G.S. in Demography and an M.S. in Biometry and Statistics. He received a B.S. in Mathematics from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His expertise is in the area of immigration. Specifically, his research projects include the effect of immigrant generation on health and occupational disparities among Asian Americans, residential segregation, socio-economic determinants of migration within China as well as from China to various international destinations, migration networks and destination choices, remittances, and the development of migrant-sending communities.
