Personal Development

What type of service is provided for students who may lack confidence or direction?
Within the Division of Student of Affairs, The Center for Personal Development offers selfesteem presentations and one-on-one counseling for those students who require this service; and depending on the situation, there is follow-up contact for those students whose assessment warrants additional attention. Students are encouraged to participate in campus organizations and other self affirming activities.

Does FSU offer spiritual programs on campus?
There are student spiritual organizations on campus. For the most part, the FSU population is spiritually grounded and new students can easily become familiar with fellowship gathering locations. Additionally, there are churches of most denominations located close to campus.

Are there going to be any more workshops throughout the academic year provided by the Financial Aid Office?
Of the two workshops available (Work Study and Loan Conference), there are designated times that these workshops are available. Workshops can also be scheduled for specific needs on a one-on-one basis.

If a student was interested in a sporting activity, but was not offered a scholarship, would he/she be permitted to try out for that particular sport?
Yes. It is the policy of the FSU Athletic Department to allow any student the opportunity to try out for sports they are interested in, regardless of scholarship awards.

Do you have handicap accommodations throughout the campus?
Yes. The university is equipped with handicap access throughout the campus and the residence halls.
