Organizational Chart
Greetings from the Interim Associate Dean

On behalf of the social work faculty and staff, I welcome you to Fayetteville State University School of Social Work! We invite you to explore our Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work programs. Both programs are rigorous and promote academic excellence.

FSU is located in the scenic Cape Fear River Valley of North Carolina, between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. Residents of Fayetteville enjoy mild temperatures, four distinct seasons, a low cost of living, and easy access to beautiful Carolina beaches.

Fort Bragg, the largest military installation in the United States is within ten minutes of the FSU. The department has a unique contractual relationship, which provides national attention, with the United States Army at Fort Sam Houston, Texas to educate and produce military personnel with MSW degrees. All of our social work students develop an understanding of the complex features of military life and acquire skills that address the needs of service members, citizen soldiers, veterans and their families. Students in the MSW Program can concentrate in children and family services or mental health and substance.

We also house two certificate programs. The Military Behavioral Health Certificate Program provides mental and behavioral health professionals knowledge and skills that enhance their abilities to provide quality care for active duty military service members, veterans, citizen soldiers and their families as well as enhance their marketability in finding employment with organizations that target military populations.

The Certificate Program in Substance Abuse Studies provides structured and applied instruction that is directly related to the needs of individuals and families suffering from the devastating effects of Alcohol, Tobacco, & Other Drugs. This certificate benefits persons that work in fields of mental health, family services, youth services, faith-based agencies, veteran centers, hospitals and health agency settings.

Our exemplary faculty members have impressive teaching qualifications and social work practice experiences. We are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and community service. Faculty members value every student, and are invested in student learning. Students matriculate in an environment that promotes diversity and brings together faculty, field instructors, social work professionals, and students for collaborative learning.

We invite you to continue to browse our website and learn more about our school. Thank you for your interest in the School of Social Work at Fayetteville State University.
