University College Core Curriculum

All students must satisfy the University College Core Curriculum requirements. The core curriculum enables students to develop the skills and general knowledge that are essential to success in their respective major programs and careers after graduation.

Core Curriculum, 2013-2014

The Core Curriculum has been revised for the 2013-2014 Catalog.  Students who enter in Summer II or Fall 2013 must complete these new requirements. Continuing students who fall under one of the exceptions described below must also complete these requirements. More...

Core Curriculum, 2012-2013

Continuing students--those who entered FSU before Summer or Fall 2013--are subject to the core curriculum requirements of the Catalog in effect when they entered (see below for exceptions). Because core curriculum requirements changed very little between 2000 and 2012, most continuing students can use the 2012-2013 Catalog for reference.

Exceptions: Some students who entered FSU before Summer or Fall 2013 are subject to the revised core curriculum requirements:

  1. Readmits: Students readmitted to the University after an absence of one or more semesters are subject to the Catalog in effect the semester of their re-enrollment.
  2. New Catalog Election: Continuing students have the option of electing to follow a later Catalog.  Students who exercise this option must satisfy all core requirements of the later Catalog.
