Happy Holidays!
Fayetteville State University will be closed December 23 and will reopen on January 3, 2023.
Please enjoy this holiday message from Chancellor Darrell T. Allison.
The winter holiday season is often filled with wishes of joy, peace, love, happiness, and charity. I echo those time-honored sentiments and wish the same for each of you.
As I reflect over the past year, I’m reminded that every year offers renewed reasons for gratitude, hope, and joy. And this year has proven to be no different.
In September, I was honored to officially be installed as the 12th Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer of this great university. The sacred ceremony and all the celebratory events that followed filled me with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and humility.
As we give and receive this season, I encourage you to seek reasons for gratitude. Those reasons aren’t hard to discover. They surround us day-by-day and moment-by-moment. May we become more aware, and may we find contentment in the gratification they ultimately bring.
It’s difficult to describe the elation we all felt during our annual homecoming celebration. The reunion of classmates and friends, the establishment of new connections, the gathering filled with jubilation and laughter – they remind us of the true substance of joy and happiness. They remind us that packages don’t always contain the greatest gifts.
Your deliberate kindness, intentionality, and support of FSU and all the people and places is truly tangible. Simply put, you matter. From students, faculty, staff, community constituents, and friends far and wide, YOU have generously given of your precious time, your outstanding talent, and your hard-earned treasure. This university, honors, appreciates, and thanks you during this special time of the year.
My hope is that each of you find your own time to reflect upon this past year. May you realize the gratitude, hope, and joy that this university has found in you.
Happy Holidays and a Prosperous New Year!
Darrell T. Allison
