Registration has been extended through January 22, 2025. This extension provides additional time to enroll in any last-minute courses needed for the current or summer term. Students are encouraged to review their schedules and complete registration as soon as possible in consultation with their academic advisor.

Dr. Cynthia Shamberger

Associate Professor - Special Education

Cynthia T. Shamberger, Associate Professor of Special Education, teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses.  Dr. Shamberger is a K-16 educator with over 15 years of classroom experience in public and private schools, and post-secondary institutions. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, a Master's degree in Special Education, and a Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Her research interests include collaboration and co-teaching that facilitates the improvement of school-related interactions between educators, parents, and administrators to enhance educational outcomes for students with complex educational needs.  She is currently engaged in a grant that focuses on implementing evidence-based reading instruction in teacher preparation courses in order to improve P-12 student reading achievement outcomes.
