As the University continues to track the weather conditions, Condition 1 (Reduced operations) will be extended until 12:00 midnight. The Fayetteville area is expected to experience weather that will include scattered thunderstorms, high winds, possible hail, throughout the day. The University will resume normal operations at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17th. During this time, all student activities have been cancelled, all classes will remain online, and the Charles Chesnutt library will remain open.  Additionally, the Early Childhood Learning Center is closed today, March 16.

Dr. Cynthia Shamberger

Associate Professor - Special Education

Cynthia T. Shamberger, Associate Professor of Special Education, teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses.  Dr. Shamberger is a K-16 educator with over 15 years of classroom experience in public and private schools, and post-secondary institutions. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, a Master's degree in Special Education, and a Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Her research interests include collaboration and co-teaching that facilitates the improvement of school-related interactions between educators, parents, and administrators to enhance educational outcomes for students with complex educational needs.  She is currently engaged in a grant that focuses on implementing evidence-based reading instruction in teacher preparation courses in order to improve P-12 student reading achievement outcomes.
