Citadel Fellow of Intelligence and Security Studies, The Citadel Aug 2015 – current
- Published Author – Into The Shadows The Fever, September 15, 2017, Into The Shadows Assassination Corps, September 15, 2018. Under contract for third book.
- Featured guest on the International Spy Museum podcast, Dec 2018.
- Coordinated with the Pentagon (J-22 branch) to conduct real world open source intelligence analysis on Russian migration into the Baltics and economic developments in Jordan. Twelve students were involved in the project and teams were required to write a final report for consumption. Each student was recognized as a contributor to the reports and awarded letters of appreciation.
- Coordinated with the FBI field office in Columbia, SC to conduct real world open source research on homeland security and port issues during Spring 2016.
- Coordinated for counter violent extremism (CVE) research on a state department funded grant of $2,500.
- Secured an internship for an undergraduate student at the Charleston, SC Coast Guard station.
- Coordinated with Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATF-S) in Miami, FL to secure internships in summer 2016, 2017 and 2018.
- Conference Director for the Intelligence and Homeland Security Enterprise Conference in Sep, 2015; participants included 250 leading intelligence and homeland security professionals and the Director, Defense Intelligence Agency.
- Teach a wide variety of graduate and undergraduate courses (online and in classroom) including intelligence analysis, intelligence collection, national security policy, homeland security, threats to the homeland, and intelligence support to military operations.
- Advised hundreds of students and helped prepare them for careers in the intelligence and security fields.
Contributor, Asia Times (Hong Kong) and Sunday Spy Show (UK) Jan 2017 – Dec 2018
- Published 12 articles for Asia Times, one for Defense Advisers, a national security and defense publication based in the UK.
- Appeared on six episodes of Sunday Spy Show to discuss intelligence and security issues.
Adjunct Professor, Fayetteville State University, a constituent of UNC Aug 2016 – Current
- Teach a variety of courses including ethics in intelligence, law enforcement intelligence, advanced intelligence analysis, international terrorism, history of intelligence.
Adjunct Professor, Trident Technical College Aug 2014 – Dec 2015
- Taught numerous online courses in the homeland security management and intelligence analysis program. Courses included terrorism and weapons of mass destruction, transportation and border security, and intelligence analysis.
- Normally taught 1-2 online courses per semester.
Interim Director of Intelligence and Security Studies, The Citadel Aug 2014-May 2015
- Led the school’s effort to grow the newly formed Intelligence and Homeland Security minor program in 2013. Increased the number of enrolled minors from 15 to 103 within two semesters.
- Nearly doubled the number of enrolled graduate students after being named the Interim Director of Intelligence in August 2014.
- Partnered with the DEA, NCTC, Anderson County Sherriff’s Office, and private corporations to offer numerous internship opportunities for my students.
- Coordinated with the National Counter Terrorism Center in spring 2015 to have my graduate students conduct real world research on CVE.
- Coordinate with the Anderson County Sherriff’s Office in spring 2015 to have my undergraduate students conduct real world research on drug interdiction.
- Served as the Conference Director for the 2015 Intelligence and Homeland Security Enterprise Conference; directly responsible for assembling 16 panels and securing the Director, Defense Intelligence Agency and other leading national figures in this field.
Visiting Professor, Department of Criminal Justice, The Citadel Aug 2013 – Aug 2014
- Taught a variety of classes including US National Intelligence, Intelligence Collection Systems and Programs, Emerging Intelligence Threats, Intelligence Successes and Failures, Intelligence and National Strategy, Organized Crime, Homeland Security.
- Created the syllabus and lesson plans for nearly all the Intelligence and Homeland Security undergraduate and graduate programs at The Citadel.

- Served as the Battalion's Recruiting Officer responsible for recruiting potential Cadets, contracting Cadets, and managing nearly $7-10 million in scholarship funding annually.
- Ranked as the number 1 program in the nation from 2007-2014 due to highest number of recruited students, and commissioned officers.
- Educated nearly 450 students weekly on topics ranging from communications, time management, leadership, ethics and values, tactics, and other Army operations.
- Created Army ROTC detachments at Charleston Southern University and College of Charleston; increasing the number of enrolled Army ROTC students.
Executive Assistant to the Director, DISA January 2004 - December 2005
- Worked directly with the military services, Combatant Commands, and other governmental agencies to resolve operational and intelligence issues pertaining to classified programs.
- Determined priorities and tasking within the Directorate.
Director, Presidential Emergency Operations Center, The White House, Jan 2001 - Jul 2002
- Coordinated with federal agencies to develop and execute national level contingency plans and to assess strategic intelligence which may affect Presidential operations or Continuity of the Government.
- White House focal point for planning and executing National Command Authority operations in coordination with the National Military Command Center.
- Tasked and directed DOD assets in support of the President, Vice President, senior White House Staff, and other national leaders.
- Synchronized national intelligence and ensured senior White House staff were briefed on issues possibly affecting national security policy.
