BIOGRAPHY

Mrs. Denise A. Edwards, Administrative Support Associate of the Henry Eldridge Department of Mathematics and Computer Science joined the department after serving one year as the Administrative Support Associate for Dr. Gail Thompson and later Dr. Cynthia Shamberger in the Butler School of Education.  Mrs. Edwards derives from the Hudson Valley area (New York) and was employed with the Orange County Child Protective Unit for 8.5 years.  Additionally, Denise is a New York State Certified Teaching Assistant and attended the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City; she has served on the Pine Bush New York Central School District's Diversity Taskforce and was instrumental in the adoption of resources and teaching tools the district needed which focused on diversity in the classroom and home.  Overall, she is honored to be part of the Fayetteville State University community after having four children attend college; her last child being a graduate student at St. John's University in New York.  Mrs. Edwards admits that she understands that experiences that higher education students face at this time in their lives are lifelong and every interaction makes an impact.
