Department of Performing and Fine Arts Presents “A Very Black History” Feb. 19-21 at Fayetteville State University

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Department of Performing and Fine Arts at Fayetteville State University will present “A Very Black History,” an original immersive theatre experience, Feb. 19 to 21 at Butler Theatre.
Set in a haunted graveyard, the production brings historical voices into the present through movement, ritual, and performance. Audience members will walk through the theatre, moving across various levels and locations as each scene unfolds. This approach will transform the theatre into a dynamic environment shaped by memory and collective experience. The production is created and performed by FSU students, in collaboration with faculty, staff, and community partners.
“This production goes beyond the stage to highlight the depth and impact of Black history,” said Jeremy Fiebig, professor of theatre at FSU. “It brings forward stories that linger and echo, reminding us that much of our collective history remains present and unresolved.”
