Reporting Concerns

We expect all members of the University community to conduct operations and activities in an ethical, honest manner, and with the highest standard of professional conduct. Each member of the campus community is expected to conduct themselves according to this standard and ensure that their actions comply with University policies and relevant laws.

FSU welcomes and encourages reporting of compliance concerns and/or seeking guidance regarding compliance issues. Individuals who report possible compliance issues in good faith will be accorded privacy and/or anonymity to the extent possible under the law, unless doing so prevents FSU from fully and effectively investigating or responding to the reported concerns. The reporting individual’s identity may also become known during the normal course of the investigation. While the highest level of privacy will be maintained, anonymity and confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.

Idividuals who report in good faith, or who participate in a compliance investigation, are protected from retaliation per the University’s Non-Retaliation Policy.

In addition to reporting concerns directly to the Office of Risk and Compliance, you may report your concern through the 24/7 anonymous HELPLINE. The HELPLINE serves as an anonymous resource for employees to report or seek guidance on possible compliance issues. The number for the ethics helpline is 910-672-1400. The helpline telephone is open 24
hours a day, 365 days a year.

The HELPLINE is NOT a 911 or Emergency Service. Do not use the HELPLINE to report events presenting an immediate threat to life or property. Reports submitted through the HELPLINE may not receive an immediate response. If you require emergency assistance or believe a crime is in progress, call 911
