Fayetteville, N.C. (June 22, 2023) — Fayetteville State University’s (FSU) newly renovated Olympic-sized swimming pool reopened to the campus community in January following a nearly three-year hiatus and an almost $750,000 restoration investment.

“The timing of our relaunch couldn’t have come at a better time as summer is an amazing time to be on the FSU campus. We are thrilled that our beautifully renovated aquatic center is open and ready for use not only for our Bronco community, but our broader local community as well,” said Chancellor Darrell T. Allison, J.D. “We are equally excited to welcome community members back as many groups were using the pool before restoration and the demand and desire to come back are stronger than ever.”

The sole facility of its kind in the area, FSU’s aquatic center has also served as a significant resource for various community groups including Cumberland County Schools, K-12 nonpublic schools, Fayetteville-Cumberland County Parks and Recreation and the YMCA. Community members may use the pool during their registered organization’s evening swim time. For additional information and schedules, please contact the organization directly.

Part of FSU’s Health, Physical Education and Recreation Complex, the pool is available for students, faculty and staff to participate in aquatic exercise, including open swimming for laps and registered campus events. Memberships are free for students, and family passes are available for purchase for a semester or academic year. Faculty and staff may also purchase passes by the semester or academic year.

The aquatic center summer schedule goes from June 15 to August 10, 2023. The pool is available to FSU students/families, faculty and employees during the following times:

Monday 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Wednesday 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Friday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Saturday NOON – 5:00 p.m.
