FSU Division of Student Affairs Appoints New Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Engagement and Student Leadership

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Fayetteville State University’s Division of Student Affairs announced Naadiya C. Hopkins, Ed.D., as the newly appointed Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Engagement and Student Leadership. In this expanded role, she will oversee the Office of New Student Orientation and the Office of Civic Engagement and Service Learning in addition to providing vision, leadership, and strategic direction to the various administrative units that coordinate student activities, student engagement, student leadership, student club and organization development, multi-cultural programs, and fraternity and sorority life.

Hopkins brings a wealth of experience to her new role with more than 10 years of experience, most recently serving as FSU’s Director of Student Activities and Student Engagement. She will report to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and work collaboratively as a member of the student affairs senior leadership team to develop a more extensive student engagement portfolio that builds community and a sense of belonging which meet the needs of the diverse student population.

As the assistant vice chancellor, Hopkins will manage a highly diversified mixture of responsibilities for coordinating direct connection points to welcome and engage students in the academic, cultural, and social climate of the university from admission through graduation.

Hopkins received a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Biology & Biology-Education from Fayetteville State University, a Master’s in Higher Education & Student Personnel from Kent State University with a certificate in Career Advising, and a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education from Fayetteville State University.
