The Southeastern North Carolina Regional Microanalytical and Imaging Consortium (SENCR-MIC) at Fayetteville State University is an open platform to conduct sample structural characterizations, funded by the U.S. Army Research Office. It represents critically needed research infrastructure in the southeastern North Carolina region.
The mission of SENCR-MIC is to provide state-of-the-art microanalytical and imaging capabilities for faculty, staff and students at Fayetteville State University and users at external academic, governmental, industrial, private and other agencies to conduct cutting-edge research, transformative education, technical development or other investigations in the southeast North Carolina region and beyond. Users from diverse disciplines are highly supported at SENCR-MIC, including Astronomy, Chemistry, Engineering, Geosciences, Life Sciences, Materials Science, Physics and others.
SENCR-MIC was established in collaboration with The University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2009, and now is under the administration of the Research Office at Fayetteville State University (FSU).
SENCR-MIC is in close collaboration with Interdisciplinary Materials Research and Education Laboratory (IMREL) at FSU.
