Hi Bronco Nation:

It’s always a great day to be a Bronco, but today was “extra” great as our very own Fayetteville State University’s Air Force and Army ROTC cadets were visited by U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin for a private meet and greet ahead of Saturday’s commencement ceremony.

What a tremendous honor to showcase our exemplary ROTC cadets to the world’s top military officer, and for him to share his personal congratulations with our newly commissioned officers as they begin their own military journeys. His inspiration and encouragement to our future military leaders were deeply moving and profound. We will forever cherish this intimate connection.

As the nation’s #1 HBCU for enrolling military and military-affiliated students, FSU is extremely proud of our Air Force and Army ROTC programs providing talented men and women the opportunity to become officers while completing their respective degrees. Moreover, FSU is proud to take it a step further by providing free tuition to our military-affiliated students (active duty, veteran, reservists, spouse or dependent).

We congratulate FSU’s new Air Force and Army officers as they take their places of service for our country.

Darrell T. Allison, J.D.
Chancellor
