Take Courses Without Enrolling in a Degree
Want to take classes at Fayetteville State University without committing to a degree program? Apply as a Special Visiting Student and earn college credit for personal or professional growth.
Who Can Apply?
You’re eligible if you want to:
- Take courses for enrichment or career advancement
- Earn credits before applying as a degree-seeking student
Visiting students can complete up to 30 credit hours before applying for full admission.
Apply Now
- Apply online through our Broncoville portal.
- Pay the $50 non-refundable application fee.
- Submit official transcript.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis up to ten business days before the start of any semester, as specified in the academic calendar at Fayetteville State University. After this deadline, applicants will be encouraged to apply for the next available term.
Know Before You Apply
- Visiting students don’t qualify for financial aid
- Transfer credits from other schools are not accepted while in visiting status

Professional Development
If you’ve earned a 4-year degree and are interested in taking courses for personal or professional growth (without pursuing a degree), please apply through our Graduate Admissions Portal using the Professional Development status.
Professional Development status is for students who wish to enroll in undergraduate or graduate courses at FSU for non-degree purposes.
