Finish Your Degree 100% Online at Fayetteville State University

Complete your degree from anywhere with Fayetteville State University’s Online Degree Completion programs—designed for students who are ready to finish what they started. Enjoy the quality of an FSU education with the flexibility to complete your major coursework online.

FSU’s Online Degree Completion (ODC) programs are for students who have already completed their general education requirements (approximately 30–45 credit hours) and are prepared to focus on upper-level courses in their chosen major.

To stay on track for graduation, students work closely with their assigned academic advisor to confirm eligibility for their intended major and finalize a personalized graduation plan.

Important to Know: ODC programs are not for completing general education courses. They are for upper-level, major-specific classes only.

What Is an Online Degree Completion Program?

An Online Degree Completion (ODC) program allows students to:

  • Complete major-specific coursework online
  • Transfer in previously earned college credits
  • Finish a bachelor’s degree in a flexible format

What ODC Programs Are NOT:

  • They are not for first-time college students
  • They are not for completing general education courses
  • They are not the same as taking a few online classes

Taking online courses does NOT mean you are an ODC student. You must be formally admitted into an Online Degree Completion program by the academic department to be considered an Online Degree student.

What You Need to Be Eligible

To apply for an Online Degree Completion program, you must meet all the following requirements:

General Education Courses Must Be Completed

  • You must have completed all general education coursework before entering an ODC program.
  • These courses are usually completed at a community college or another four-year institution.

ODC programs are for major coursework only.

Minimum Credit Hours

  • You must have at least 30 transferable credit hours, typically made up of general education courses.

GPA Requirement

  • You must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Important: Admission to the university does not automatically guarantee admission into an Online Degree Completion program. Each academic department reviews transcripts separately.

Transfer Credit Information

  • FSU accepts transferable courses completed with a grade of C or higher.
  • Once admitted, your academic department will review your transcripts to determine:
    • Which credits apply to your major
    • Whether all general education requirements are met

You must complete general education requirements before starting ODC major courses.
