NOTE: Students requesting ADA/medical accommodations must still complete the housing process steps while awaiting approval (completing the online housing application, pay the $150 application fee, etc). Once approved, the student will be placed in an on-campus space based on the documentation submitted, space availability, and recommendations of the Center for Personal Development.
Returning Student Housing Guide
Eligibility Requirements
To live on campus, you must:
- 1. Be enrolled full-time:
- 12+ credit hours (fall/spring) or 6+ (summer).
- 75% of credits must be in-person (on campus).
- Online, part-time, and graduate students: Must request permission from the Director of Housing and Residence Life via this form.
- 2. Be in good standing:
- No academic/disciplinary suspensions (appeals may be requested from Housing).
- Clear all unpaid balances with FSU and Housing.
- 3. Complete pre-move-in requirements:
- Pay the $150 annual housing fee ($25 for summer-only).
- Finish mandatory trainings (Canvas courses, substance abuse, sexual misconduct, etc.), before move-in.
- Upload proof of health insurance to www.studentbluenc.com/fsu.
- Meet vaccination requirements (call Student Health at (910) 672-1259).
- Ensure your FAFSA is on file and your financial aid can cover your meal plan and housing costs.
Important Notes
- Meal Plans: All on-campus students are automatically enrolled in the All-Access Meal Plan. Changes must be made within the first 2 weeks of the semester.
- Room Assignments: Preferences are considered but not guaranteed. FSU may reassign rooms for emergencies or consolidation.
- Cancellations:
- $500 fee if canceled after assignment or move-in.
- Prorated charges apply until the 8th week of classes.
- Exceptions: Military deployment, medical withdrawal, or study abroad.
Move-In/Out
- Check-in/out deadlines are strict (*late departures incur $10+/day fines*).
- Early arrivals/late stays: Require written approval from Housing.
