Bronco STAR

Resource Description: Bronco STAR is an academic support program at Fayetteville State that works toward increasing access and decreasing barriers to a college degree for students who learn differently.  The program does not require a diagnosis. Bronco Star provides FREE on-campus resources to students with Executive Functioning challenges, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other learning differences.

Bronco STAR participants will have access to a package of various services:

  • ADD/ADHD
  • Study Skills/Time Management
  • Academic Success Coaching
  • Interactive Workshops
  • FREE Academic Tutoring/Study Space
  • Assistive Technology

Writing & Communication Center

Resource Description: The Writing & Communication Center's professional and peer tutors work with FSU students during any stage of the writing process. They offer a safe and comfortable writing community where students can get feedback on their work and learn strategies to become great writers. The Writing & Communication Center is available in person or virtually to help with all writing projects including essays, academic research, creative writing, case studies, citing sources, cover letters, and resumes.  Assistance is offered at any stage of the writing process, on any type of writing.

Math Support Center 

Resource Description: The Math Support Center is committed to offering superior tutorial services in the area of mathematics. The center maintains a caring, supportive, and encouraging academic presence to the university community. The following services are available to students:

Supplemental Instruction

Resource Description: Supplemental Instruction (SI) is provided in a number of classes at Fayetteville State University. In this program, SI Leaders provide three one-hour sessions of academic support each week. Since the SI Leader attends class, he or she knows what the course instructor has covered in class. SI Leaders reinforce the knowledge and skills required by the class.

Counseling Development Center 

Resource Description: Counseling services is a FREE service provided to our enrolled students by licensed clinical mental health counselors, can assist students in making satisfying decisions and resolving problems concerning personal feelings, relationships, life choices and success in school. A confidential welcoming atmosphere is created where personal, social, and academic concerns may be discussed. Counseling services are available to currently enrolled students.
