Dr. Leslie Evelyn, Director of Sponsored Research and  Programs, which coordinates sponsored research activities among the administration, faculty, staff and students at Fayetteville State University as well as with local, state, and national communities. Working with government and private sector officials to acquire funds and equipment for the university is another affair handled by the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs.

Shenetta Dudley, Pre-Awards Administrator/Grants Specialist, assists faculty and staff in proposal preparation.  She submits proposals to Sponsors in either hard copy or in a variety of electronic formats.  She also oversees the proposal routing process making sure all necessary forms are accounted for and have been signed by all necessary parties, and procedures have been completed by the project submission deadline.  Assists the Director of Sponsored Research and Programs in disseminating funding opportunities, conference representation and presentations.   Ms. Dudley is responsible maintaining the University of North Carolina Sponsored Programs proposal database. She prepares the monthly and fiscal year end submission and award statistics. She works with faculty to register them with the agencies that require electronic submission of proposal. Maintains the Sponsored Research and Programs Web-Page. She is also the departments administrative assistant.

Vacant, Compliance Officer/Grants Specialist, manages and coordinates the Federally and University mandated compliance areas of human participation in research, conflict of interest and misconduct in science research involving human subject in conjunction with the Institutional Review Board; Human Right in Research Committee (HRRC). Design and implement educational initiatives for faculty, staff and students regarding human subject regulations. Establish and implement educational initiatives for faculty, staff and students regarding the human subject regulations.  Collects and maintains research data to monitor trends; prepares reports and/or presentations. Registers faculty in the Community of Science Database.  Coordinates internal and external grant writing and human subjects training sessions. 

Dwane Hodges, Budget Officer/Grants Specialist, reviews external proposal budgets for announcement compliance.  Examines budget estimates of completeness, accuracy and conformity with procedures, regulations and organizational objectives.  Reviews all proposed expenditures and estimates related to the proposal to insure that they are reasonable, consistent and allowable.  Ensure all proposal budgets adhere to the University's guidelines pertaining to indirect rates, cost sharing, etc. as well as conformance to the policies and regulation of expenditures procedures of various funding agencies.

Carolyn Harris, Post Awards Administrator, Grants Specialist, ensures that faculty, staff, project directors and the university remain in compliance with the terms of the award agreement. Police the actions made during the life of the award to ensure its compliance. Responsible for executing the entire range of post-award administrative functions associated with sponsored programs. Serves as liaison between the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research and other Administrative units in developing the necessary management information systems for sponsored programs management. Assists with the development and delivery of workshops, seminars, and other technical assistance media for faculty researchers.
