Employee Engagement Survey

In 2018 Fayetteville State University participated in the UNC Systems administered Employee Engagement Survey in collaboration with ModernThink, an organizational, development and management consulting firm with expertise in improving quality, stakeholder engagement and overall outcomes. All 17 UNC Campuses and the System office participated in the first of the three surveys in 2018. Two follow- up surveys to measure progress and outcome of system and university goals will be administered in 2020 and again in 2022.

About the engagement survey:

The UNC System Employee Engagement Survey is a five- year project developed to achieve the goals of the UNCStrategic Plan of "Higher Expectations". The data collected from the
surveys will establish a baseline metric for engagement to track over the next five years cooperatively with other human capital metrics. The survey results can
also assist the UNC System in advocating for improvements to human resources policies at the statewide level that are generally beyond the University'sinstitutional control.

If you have questions about the survey, please contact Kay Faircloth, Associate Director for Human Resources, at ext. 2461 or jfaircl6@uncfsu.edu.

FSU Commitment to Employee Engagement:

The Four Pillars of Excellence in Employee Engagement

1. Community - FSU's legacy and mission bind employees in a community that transcends divisional affiliations.

2. Dialogue - Open and varied modes of dialogue promote collaboration and trust within and across divisions.

3. Shared Governance - As the organizations with primary responsibility for shared governance, the Staff Senate and Faculty Senate require university support and
campus-wide involvement.

4.  Achievement - Individual employee achievement must be encouraged through the performance evaluation processes and affirmed by meaningful recognitions and rewards.
