Tina RainesFayetteville, N.C. (November 21, 2022) — Fayetteville State University (FSU) named Tina Raines as its inaugural assistant vice chancellor for marketing and creative services, effective November 18, 2022. Raines has served FSU as director of marketing since 2016.

With expertise in marketing, project management, fundraising, event and volunteer management, Raines brings more than 30 years of experience in engaging stakeholders to meet the goals of for-profit companies, non-profit organizations and institutions of higher learning.

“Tina has led FSU through many marketing enhancements over the past six years. We are making extraordinary strides in the Office of Strategic Communication and are fortunate to have a marketing professional of her caliber and experience leading our marketing and creative services efforts,” said Joy Cook, associate vice chancellor for strategic communication and chief communications officer. “Her wealth of experience, creativity, passion and talent inspire our team and help highlight the best FSU has to offer. In her new role she will also manage our creative services staff.”

As director of marketing at FSU, Raines conceptualized and implemented Fayetteville State University’s integrated marketing plan aimed at engaging internal and external audiences to boost attendance and support for the university. The integrated marketing plan includes official branding, recruitment marketing, fundraising marketing, internal and external communication, and event marketing.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to integrate my passion for education and storytelling into marketing initiatives that will help FSU grow and continue its phenomenal momentum,” Raines said. “I love hearing stories about the journeys that led students and supporters to FSU and contributing in some small way to helping them realize their dreams. I am fortunate to be a part of the Bronco Family and look forward to supporting the visionary leadership of Chancellor Darrell T. Allison, Chief of Staff Samantha Holmes, Associate Vice Chancellor Joy Cook and our team of talented and dedicated colleagues.”

Raines also introduced advertising campaigns focused on recruiting traditional and non-traditional students — FSU recorded historic enrollment in Fall 2022, including military-affiliated students as well as first-year, first-time students.

Raines led a website redesign effort of uncfsu.edu and is guiding the latest website overhaul to further enhance stakeholder engagement, including alumni, students, families, friends, corporate and private partners and the general public. She also developed creative and impactful strategies to connect during the COVID pandemic, including virtual and hybrid open houses and drive through campus tours. She has also marketed new fundraising initiatives to attract new donors and increase per capita giving.

A native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Raines holds a bachelor of arts degree from the Hussman School of Journalism and Media at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master of arts in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University of Spokane, Washington. She lives in Hope Mills with her husband, Ray, and they have four children.
