Police and Public Safety
The Fayetteville State University (FSU) Department of Police and Public Safety (PPS) is a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week full-service law enforcement agency consisting of five divisions: Administrative Division, Patrol Division, Investigations Division, Property Security/Traffic Enforcement, and Emergency Management. Our law enforcement officers have the authority to enforce federal, state, and local laws, as well as the rules and regulations of Fayetteville State University. PPS’s broader responsibilities encompass not only law enforcement but also disaster preparedness/response and the implementation of public safety initiatives within the FSU community.
The primary mission of PPS is to ensure the safety and security of the FSU community, creating an environment where students, faculty, staff, and visitors can pursue their academic and personal goals with confidence and peace of mind. PPS accomplishes its mission by its commitment to providing enhanced public safety services through proactive policing and community engagement, serving the FSU community with integrity and respect, and cultivating an atmosphere conducive to maintaining positive community relationships.
