September 28, 2017 - Two cathodoluminescence systems have been installed on the JEOL JXA-8530F EPMA: xCLent IV Hyperspectral Cathodoluminescence System, and Panchromatic Cathodoluminescence System.

September 13, 2016 - The National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded FSU in the amount of $201,900 for a proposal, entitled "MRI: Acquisition of a Cathodoluminescence Spectrometer on an Electron Probe Microanalyzer for Multidisciplinary Research and Hands-On Education at Fayetteville State University". The project was proposed by Dr. Zhiping Luo (PI at FSU, Materials Science), Dr. Daryush Ila (Co-PI at FSU, Physics), Dr. John Chadwick (Senior Personnel at College of Charleston, Geology), and Dr. Khalid Lodhi (Senior Personnel at FSU, Forensic Science). The addition of a cathodoluminescence spectrometer will significantly enhance the capability of this world-class microprobe. [Link]
