FSU Department of Performing and Fine Arts Uses Grant to Support Fine Arts Series
Fayetteville State University (FSU) announces the Fine Arts Series with the help of a grant in the amount of $6,000.00 from the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County. The grant allows the Fine Arts Series to host events for students to experience various forms of art through hands on experience with the artist.
The Fayetteville State University- Fine Arts Series events are curated based on the core curriculum for the Department of Performing and Fine Arts. The department consist of majors and minors in music, dance, art and theatre. Each artist who participate in the Fine Art Series event host a master's class to give the students some Q&A, performance tactics and how to enhance their skill set.
"The Arts council is pleased to partner with Fayetteville State University in support of the Fine Arts Series," says Deborah Martin Mintz, Arts Council Executive Director. Project Support Grants for 2018-2019 will help fund 23 projects facilitated by 20 nonprofit organizations. These projects help strengthen our communities through festivals and concerts, youth education programs, arts exhibitions and workshops, and so much more."
Fayetteville State University Fine Arts Series Support grant from the Arts Council will help our agency for the entire season, to include:
- Art Exhibit Call It Black-Photography from 1930s-present
- FSU Day of Brass with Seraph Brass
- 2nd Annual FSU Jazz Weekend with Tia Fuller
- FSU Theatre- Home
Project Support Grants increase opportunities for access to arts, science, cultural and historical programming in Cumberland County. The grants are awarded to nonprofit agencies in Cumberland County that demonstrate financial and administrative stability.
The Department of Performing and Fine Arts is committed to building community through the arts. From gallery exhibits to performances by the University Choir. The Fine Arts Series brings nationally recognized speakers and performers to campus; and throughout the year filling J.W.
