Disability Income Plan of North Carolina
The Disability Income Plan of North Carolina (DIPNC) provides monthly replacement income to individuals in the form of short-term disability benefits, extended short-term disability benefits and long-term disability benefits if you become disabled while you are a permanent employee and are enrolled in either the UNC Optional Retirement Program or the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System. This is a voluntary supplemental disability plan underwritten by Liberty Life Assurance Company of Boston, a member of the Liberty Mutual Group, designed exclusively for University employees who are members of the North Carolina Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System (TSERS).
