In 2024, FSU transitioned to the systemwide Benefits Service Center to provide consistent, expert benefits support for employees. Effective March 9, 2026, all benefits questions and requests should be submitted through ServiceNow by opening a case at https://uncsys.service-now.com/uba.

How to Submit Benefits Questions

ServiceNow allows employees to track the status of their request, see when it has been assigned to a Benefits specialist, and access a growing knowledge base with answers to common benefits questions. This enhancement improves transparency, efficiency, and the overall employee support experience.

BENEFITS SUPPORT INCLUDES:

  • Mandatory and Supplemental Retirement
  • Health Insurance
  • NCFlex Plans
  • Work/Life Programs, such as Tuition Waiver, Employee Assistance, and wellness programs
  • Special Leaves such as Family Medical Leave, Military Leave, Paid Parental Leave, and Faculty Serious Illness Leave
  • Life Insurance, AD&D, and Supplemental Disability

Vacation leave, sick leave, Community Service Leave, and Voluntary Shared Leave will continue to be managed on campus.

 


 

Service Center staff will offer counseling and support for all employee benefits except vacation leave, sick leave, Community Service Leave, and Voluntary Shared Leave, which will continue to be managed here on campus.

You will have easy access to Service Center staff via email, video meetings, opportunities for in-person meetings, phone calls, and fax, plus workshops, including open enrollment and retirement preparation.
