The mission of the Office of Student Engagement & Activities is to promote and facilitate culturally enriching programs, high-impact practices, and leadership opportunities for all students to foster active involvement in the campus and local community as we ensure a vast skill set beyond graduation for all students at FSU.

Commuter Student Services

Are you a student who lives off-campus, perhaps has a job, children, or military responsibilities? If so, you are part of the commuter/adult sutdent population.

We have many resources available to include commuter student lounges and student support services.

Honda Campus-All Stars

The Honda Campus All-Star Challenge is an academic bowl for HBCUs and one of Honda's largest and longest running philanthropic initiatives in the United States. Since 1989, the program has awarded more than $8 million in grants to participating HBCUs. FSU students have competed annually in the Honda Campus All-Star academic bowl since the inception of the program.

Honda Campus All-Star Challenge (HCASC), the HBCU National Quiz Championship, was established to showcase the academic excellence of HBCU students. Over 125,000 students have participated. HCASC is a great game and much more: players widen their scope of knowledge, learn teamwork, sportsmanship, travel and represent their schools, become friends with school officials, including presidents, bond with their fellow competitors and develop relationships that make them, as our motto says, "Friends for Life." These friends form a vast network of support during their school days and beyond.

Honda supports HBCUs because of their unique and critical role in higher education, helping millions of students achieve their dreams. That aligns with Honda's guiding philosophy, "The Power of Dreams."

Office of Cultural Programs & Safe Zone

Mission

The mission of the Office of Cultural Programs and Safe Zone is to provide Fayetteville State University and the surrounding community with heightened experiences through exhibition and performance, to broaden cultural competence with learning opportunities in the arts by bringing noted artists to campus for performances, lectures, master classes, workshops, and off-campus programs, as well as to provide a safe space for all students.

Program Goals & Objectives Our primary goal is to preserve the arts and culture. We strive also build a greater sense of community; one that is inclusive, cohesive, and diverse. Our goals include:

Provide support services that assist in achieving educational goals and attaining or refining academic skills for residential and commuter students;
Promote intellectual, career, social, ethical, and social justice development;
Enhance student' understanding of their own culture, heritage, and identities;
Enhance students' understanding of cultures, heritages, and identities other than their own Provide opportunities for interactions, exchanges of ideas, critical thinking, and reflection;
Challenge practices of overt prejudices or discrimination; and
Support all efforts that encourage sensitivity training, cultural and diversity awareness programs, and growth in cultural competency
