Fayetteville State Athletics Achieves Impressive Academic Milestone for Fall 2024

Fayetteville, N.C. – Fayetteville State University is proud to announce that its student-athletes have achieved an outstanding academic milestone for the Fall 2024 semester. The Department of Athletics recorded a remarkable 3.33 departmental GPA, showcasing the dedication and hard work of its student-athletes both on and off the field.

A total of 35 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average, demonstrating their exceptional commitment to academic excellence. Additionally, 150 student-athletes achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher, further highlighting the department's emphasis on academic success.

In addition to these academic achievements, FSU Athletics celebrated the graduation of 25 student-athletes during the University's Winter Commencement Ceremony held in the Felton J. Capel Arena. These graduates have not only excelled in their respective sports but have also successfully completed their academic programs, ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives.

"We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes for their academic achievements this semester," said Director of Athletics Anthony Bennett. "Their dedication to their studies, alongside their athletic commitments, is truly commendable. This accomplishment reflects the supportive environment fostered by our coaches, staff, and the entire Fayetteville State community."

The Department of Athletics continues to prioritize the academic success of its student-athletes, providing resources and support to help them excel in their studies. This achievement underscores the university's commitment to developing well-rounded individuals who excel in both academics and athletics.

In the Fall of 2023, the department had an average of 3.26, with 138 student-athletes holding a 3.0 or better. Thirty Broncos had a perfect 4.0 average. Following the 2022 fall semester, it was a 3.11 GPA average with 22 attaining a 4.0 and 125 earning a 3.0 or better average.
