Whether you’ve just graduated from high school, transferring from another university, or already working, FSU will provide you with the experience of a lifetime! Becoming a student at Fayetteville State University means becoming a member of the Bronco family where classmates, faculty, and staff not only want you to succeed, but want to help you get there. Our student to faculty ratio of 17:1 means your professors will know not just your name, but your story, your goals.

Fayetteville State University dates back to 1867, when seven black men founded the Howard School for the purpose of educating black children. We are proud to be an HBCU and the second-oldest state supported institution in North Carolina. We continue to build on the proud tradition of excellence at FSU and we strive to stay on the forefront of innovation. Our students conduct cutting-edge research in state-of-the-art facilities; participate in incredible internships, and study abroad on their journey to success in a global economy. We offer more than 60 excellent academic degrees and unlimited career opportunities.

At FSU, we believe that cost should never stand in the way of pursuing your education. That's why we offer scholarships and competitive financial aid packages to help you finance your degree. With one of the lowest tuition rates in the state, we provide a world-class education at a fraction of the price.

There is always something exciting happening at FSU. Broncos look forward to big events like Homecoming Week in the fall and Rodeo Week in the spring, while also enjoying speaker series, performances, athletic events, and more throughout the year. Even if you commute to class or take classes online, we offer more than 100 clubs and organizations where you are sure to meet classmates with similar interest, network, and make life-long friends.
